Masahiro Tanaka Can't Escape Fifth In No-Decision
5 years agoFor the first couple of innings Wednesday afternoon, it appeared that New York Yankees starter Masahiro Tanaka was headed for a much-improved performance. Following a dreadful outing at Fenway Park his last time out, Tanaka fired four shutout innings, albeit with struggles. He stranded two men on base in half of his four innings, before a pair of hits to lead off the fifth was the final blow. Getting removed with no outs recorded in the fifth, he failed to qualify for a win, but the Diamondbacks would score three runs in the inning to take the lead.
