Nick Martini Called Up To Majors
5 years agoOakland Athletics outfielder Nick Martini has been recalled from Triple-A. Martini was having an excellent season in Las Vegas, posting a .332 batting average and .435 on-base percentage over 60 games. Drafted in the seventh round of the 2011 draft and toiling in the minors since then, Martini held his own over 55 games last season in Oakland, batting .296 with a .397 on-base percentage and solid 120 wRC+. The 29-year-old could be an intriguing fantasy option if he can manage regular playing time, but with Mark Canha available to fill in for injured Ramon Laureano, he does not have the clearest path. Fantasy owners in 14-plus team leagues and AL-only leagues should keep an eye on him.
