Welcome to the Monday, July 29th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.
Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.
In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on July 29th. Enjoy them. You can even respond with your own thoughts on Twitter @EllisCan2.

Daily Musings
- Eric Sogard because the Rays need another utility guy. (Smothered, Covered, Diced, Chopped w/sarcasm)
- Greg Holland is out as closer, “temporarily,” they said. “They” say a lot.
- J.T. Realmuto will dine in. Grand Slam. Kyle Schwarber will as well. A table for two.
- Ender Inciarte, once a solid power/speed guy. Lost job. Demoted. Replacement failing & injuries bring him back. Fourth HR. Likely will split time w/Adam Duvall. Yep, the same Duvall.
- Closer du jour. Diego Castillo w/eight SV.
- Every option after Ken Giles in Toronto bullpen got smacked. Not a good showing.
- Phillies' might on full display: Bryce Harper (18), J.T. Realmuto(14), Rhys Hoskins(22), and even Adam Haseley(3). Despite this, the offense hasn’t been what I thought it could have been, even without the live ball.
- Aaron Nola W comes w/scars, 6.2IP, 4ER, 3BB, 8K. ChiSox next. Feeling kinda frisky.
- Yonny Chirinos concert went up in smoke. 4IP, 7ER, 4K.
- Vladimir Guerrero Jr. In the last nine games, he has six multi-hit games w/two HR. If you were contemplating buying low, you better stop procrastinating.
- Yonder Alonso w/first HR as a Rocky(eight). 8% owned. Dirt cheap power. Questionable playing time.
- Elieser Hernandez back in the rotation. 4IP, 1ER, 2K. Rays next.
- Back-to-back games with HR by Michael Conforto (20) gets us excited. Potential realized? 30HR within reach. 79% owned is surprising.
- My donation to you: One run. In return, I’ll get a save. Edwin Diaz(Mets?)
- Corey Seager w/441ft mountain blast(9). Huh?! Yes, Corey Seager still plays baseball.
- Stephen Strasburg was masterful vs. LAD, no less. 7IP, 1ER, 9K. First to 14 wins. D’backs & Giants could make it 16W quickly.
- Brian Dozier still supplies the long ball(15). Puts a dent in AVG(.239).
- Hello, Soto! 18HR, 66RBI, 7SB, .285AVG for Juan Soto. Has anyone forgotten he’s only 20 years old?
- THUNDER! Kyle Schwarzer w/473ft big ol’ jet airliner! Two-HR day, seven RBI. 24 flights and still a .228AVG. Adam Dunn starter kit?
- 53% owned for Zach Davies. Sadness. 5IP, 7K, 1K. Cubs rematch next.
- Max Kepler w/28th bomb. Wunderbar!
- Jorge Polanco w/third HR(16) in last week. Bring the heat down the home stretch.
- No innings for you, Dylan Covey. 0.0IP, 5ER, 0K. 1% owned. That’s the wrong 1%er right there.
- Astros found a way to get Yordan Alvarez in lineup in STL. 12th HR.
- George Springer w/ 24th crowd-pleaser.
- Dakota Hudson can’t force everyone to keep the ball on the ground. 4IP, 5ER, 5K. A’s next.
- Jose Ramirez does it again (14th mortar shot) I’m sure you’re conflicted inside. Torn, like an old sweater…wishing you had traded for him.
- Trevor Bauer can clear the fence too, with his arm. Impressive.
- It shows we will never really fully comprehend/master this game when Ian Kennedy gets 20SV.
- Can I get one share of Danny Santana to feel the magic? 6HR, 17RBI, .403AVG in last 15days. 66% owned. Maybe I can.
- Jose Leclerc drop-shot rollercoaster continues.
- Liam Hendriks falters again. Blake Treinen to the rescue.
- Pedro Payano, I’ll check you out a little more.
- Dylan Bundy provides his customary couple of homers.
- Matthew Boyd looking sexy in his last Detroit catwalk. 6.1IP, 1ER, 10K.
- Wil Myers still knows how to hit the long ball(13).
- Domingo German out-duels Chris Sale. STOP! I’ve told you again and again. It doesn’t work that way. It makes no damn sense. German joined the 13-win club, while Sale is stuck at five.
- 'Don’t Stop Believin' playing in the background as Andrew Benintendi reaches double-digit thumpers(10).
- Have a great Monday. Start the week off right & enjoy baseball tonight, even if it is a small slate of games.
- No Fear, Just Fantasy.
