FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Gerrit Cole, HOU at STL ($12,000)

This one is simply hard to avoid. Cole is arguably the best pitcher in the league right now and he finds himself in a great situation. Not only does he face an NL lineup without a DH, it happens to be a Cardinals team that’s posting some ugly numbers. In fact, St.Louis currently ranks 20th in runs scored, 23rd in OPS and 24th in wOBA. That’s really no surprise when you consider the fact that they’re without Matt Carpenter, Marcell Ozuna and Yadier Molina. Those deficiencies are really scary against Cole, who’s pitching to a 3.03 ERA and 1.00 WHIP while striking out 205 batters across 136.2 innings.

Alex Young, ARI at MIA ($7,300)

I honestly don’t trust Young but it’s hard to fade a hot pitcher in such an intriguing matchup at a price like this. In his first five starts, Young is pitching to a 2.38 ERA and 0.66 WHIP. He’s actually done that with matchups against the Dodgers, Brewers, Rockies and at Texas, as that’s obviously an impressive stretch. Facing Miami at Marlins Park is the reason we truly love him here though, with the Marlins ranking 19th in K rate, 29th in runs scored and dead-last in OPS, wOBA and xwOBA. That’s really no surprise with Marlins Park being the most pitcher-friendly park in the Majors.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Daniel Murphy - 1B, COL at CIN ($3,100)

Murphy has quietly found his bat over recent weeks and it’s a wonder why his price remains so cheap. Not only has he homered in back-to-back days, Murph is hitting .330 over his last 54 games. He’s also generating an OPS just shy of .950 in that stretch and it’s clear he's back to being the stud we expected. Getting to face Anthony DeSclafani is a huge plus too, with the Cincy righty allowing left-handed batters to post a .579 SLG and .389 wOBA against him this season.

Max Muncy - 2B, LAD at WSH ($4,100)

Picking second basemen is an absolute dumpster fire but Muncy always makes for a safe selection. There are simply not many second basemen who provide the same power potential as Muncy, with the Dodgers lefty generating an ISO just shy of .300 while posting a .561 SLG and .941 OPS since joining LA. He comes into this matchup raking too, hitting nine homers over his last 20 games. Getting to face a TBD is the icing on the cake, as he’s going to avoid Patrick Corbin, Max Scherzer and Stephen Strasburg.

Miguel Sano - 3B, MIN at CWS ($3,700)

Sano is absolutely scorching right now and it’s something to watch this big man obliterate baseballs. That’s evident by the fact that he has four homers and nine RBI over his last six games. That sort of power prowess really shouldn’t be a huge surprise when you consider the fact that Sano has a .335 ISO this season and .245 ISO for his career. That’s got to be frightening for Ivan Nova, who’s pitching to a 5.49 ERA and 1.49 WHIP so far this season.

Francisco Lindor - SS, CLE at KC ($4,200)

The Indians may be the hottest team in the league right now and Lindor is a major reason why. Any guy hitting .295 with an .860 OPS is worth considering in this price range, particularly when they have 30-20 potential. The man known as “Smiles” is really feeling it right now too, posting a .644 SLG and 1.006 OPS over his last 10 games. Those stellar numbers should continue against Glenn Sparkman, who’s pitching to a 4.67 ERA and 1.38 WHIP. That also puts Lindor on the left side, as he’s generating a .551 SLG and .897 OPS against righties so far this season.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Mike Trout, LAA vs. BAL ($5,000)

This play really doesn’t take a whole lot of explanation. Trout is the best player in baseball and he’s absolutely destroying opposing pitchers right now. In fact, Trout has five doubles, 11 homers, 17 runs scored and 26 RBI over his last 15 games. That’s why he ranks Top-5 in home runs, RBI, runs scored, OBP and OPS for the season. The icing on the cake is this matchup, with the Orioles ranking dead-last in ERA and home runs allowed. Aaron Brooks is definitely a part of that, pitching to a 5.16 ERA and .367 xwOBA this season.

Dominic Smith, NYM vs. PIT ($2,300)

This price just really surprises me. Smith has done nothing but ruin right-handers ERA's since being called up and it’s hard to figure out why he’s below $2,500. So far this season, Smith is providing a .539 SLG and .900 OPS with the platoon advantage in his favor. That’s the production of a $4,000 player and we’re looking at quite the discount here. It’s not like this is a tough matchup either, with Trevor Williams pitching to a 4.96 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and .343 xwOBA this season.
