C.J. Beathard And Kendrick Bourne On Bubble
5 years agoThe San Francisco Chronicle’s Eric Branch believes quarterback C.J. Beathard and wide receiver Kendrick Bourne are at risk of not making the team in 2019. Beathard has appeared in 13 games in his two-year career and was next man up last year after Jimmy Garoppolo (knee) went down. However, after posting a disappointing 8:7 touchdown-to-interception ratio, Beathard was replaced by Nick Mullens. Mullens is expected to be the primary backup to Garoppolo in 2019. Bourne led all Niners receivers with 487 yards in 2018 but his emergence was more due to injuries than pure talent. With the teams drafting two rookie receivers this year, Bourne might be cut if the team decides to keep only six receivers. Due to their replacement-level value, neither players figure to be fantasy-relevant in any context.
