Edwin Encarnacion Smashes 30th Home Run This Season
5 years agoNew York Yankees DH Edwin Encarnacion fouled a pitch off his foot in the ninth inning Wednesday night against the Minnesota Twins and was in obvious pain. After the training staff checked on him, however, he stayed in the game and promptly drilled a solo home run, his 30th of the season, This makes eight consecutive seasons of at least 30 home runs for the veteran, the current longest streak of seasons with 30 home runs. It was one of two hits on the night for the Dominican, who was visibly in pain rounding the bases. Manager Aaron Boone didn't mention any serious injury afterwards.
