Marco Gonzales Rebounds For 11th Victory
5 years agoSeattle Mariners starter Marco Gonzales earned his 11th victory of the season Monday as the team bested the Texas Rangers 7-3. The southpaw threw seven innings of two-run ball, surrendering seven hits and no walks while striking out four. Gonzales came out of the gate slow serving up a run in each of the first two innings, but settled down fantastically retiring 12 batters in a row at one point. He’s had a very up and down season and has shown flashes of excellence in outings like this one, but predicting when they will come has been difficult. He’ll carry a 4.37 ERA and 1.33 WHIP into his next start on the weekend against the Tigers, making him a viable streaming option in that contest.
