Gary Sanchez's Slump Continues To Alarm
5 years agoNew York Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez went hitless in five plate appearances Monday night against the Minnesota Twins, striking out twice. It was the latest in a mounting number of disappointing performances for the All-Star. Across his last 30 games, Sanchez is batting just .193 and has connected on just one home run in the last calendar month. While speculation has led to pinpointing a thumb injury suffered in the London Series as the reason for his struggles, the Yankees have denied that. Regardless, Sanchez is lost at the plate and will have to work out of his slide, now batting .233 on the season.
