BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 33% of Yahoo! leagues
ANALYSIS: By virtually every measurable metric, fantasy or not, Indians catcher Roberto Perez has been a top-10 catcher in the MLB this season. He is currently boasting a .246/.333/.491 slash line with 16 home runs, 38 RBI and a wonderful 11.2% walk rate.
Perez has always had prodigious power and good patience at the plate, but a part-time role and high strikeout issues have long held him back. The strikeout issues are still prevalent (28.5% rate) but Perez is now the everyday catcher in Cleveland, and his profile makes him worth a look in all formats.
His 45.8% hard hit rate is among the best in the league, and he boasts a 97.9 mile per hour exit velocity on fly balls this season, which ranks eighth in the league and helps provide context to his seemingly sky-high 34% HR/FB rate.
Perez is the best catcher not enough people are talking about, and he deserves a spot on all fantasy rosters at this point.
