Los Angeles Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen (ankle) is expected to be available for Thursday's contest against the Phillies after suffering an ankle bruise during Tuesday's blown save. Manager Dave Roberts noted that the 31-year-old is feeling significantly better. Jansen has recorded 23 saves to go along with 3 wins, a 3.72 ERA, 1.01 WHIP, and should be started accordingly in all fantasy formats as one of baseball's top closers.--Denis Vondrus - RotoBaller

Los Angeles Angels closer Kenley Jansen worked the ninth inning of Thursday's 4-3 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Jansen entered the ninth inning with a 4-3 lead, throwing 14 of his 18 pitches for strikes. He allowed a base hit with one out before getting a strikeout for the second out, and he got Oneil Cruz to line out to end the game while the possible tying run was on first base. The 37-year-old right-hander has converted each of his six save chances and has not allowed a run in eight innings of work while maintaining a 26.7 percent strikeout percentage. With Ben Joyce (shoulder) also on the injured list, Jansen is relied upon even more for high-leverage work. He has also given the Angels no reason to doubt him as their primary closer moving forward. Next for the Angels is a three-game series against the Minnesota Twins on the road.--Nicho Roessler - RotoBaller

Los Angeles Angels right-hander Kenley Jansen tossed a scoreless ninth inning to preserve a 4-3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday. Jansen made things interesting in the frame, working around two walks while notching two strikeouts, to earn his third save in as many chances in the early portion of the season. Overall, the veteran closer has yet to allow an earned run over five innings of work this year while striking out six. He will look to continue his strong start to the season for an Angels team that has been a pleasant surprise with a 7-3 record in the early going.--Matt T - RotoBaller

Los Angeles Angels reliever Kenley Jansen allowed one walk while striking out two over a scoreless inning to earn the save in Saturday's 1-0 win over the Chicago White Sox. Jansen entered the ninth inning to protect a one-run lead. The veteran right-hander needed 19 pitches to notch his first save with the Angels this season. Jansen signed a one-year, $10 million contract with the Angels this offseason to be the team's primary closer. The 37-year-old notched 27 saves with Boston last season while posting a 3.29 ERA and 1.06 WHIP. Jansen is currently fourth on the all-time list for saves with 448 and is only 31 saves away from surpassing Lee Smith for third all-time.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller

Los Angeles Angels relief pitcher Kenley Jansen (shoulder) is scheduled to make his spring training debut against the Athletics on Saturday. Jansen missed the end of last season due to shoulder inflammation, but it wasn't expected to be an issue heading into the 2025 season. Jansen signed a one-year deal with the Angels over the offseason. The assumption is that Jansen will operate as the closer given he's 32 saves away from passing Lee Smith for third in all time in career save. Ben Joyce will likely operate as the set-up man and learn behind Jansen before taking over as the closer of the future in Los Angeles.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
