Yusei Kikuchi Labors Through Four Frames Sunday
5 years agoSeattle Mariners starter Yusei Kikuchi suffered his sixth loss of the season at the hands of the Los Angeles Angels Sunday. He gave up three runs on two hits, including a home run, while striking out three in the 87-pitch effort. Kikuchi struggled with his command walking four on the afternoon, which has been a common occurrence of late as he's issued 13 free passes over his last four starts. Home runs have also been an issue for the rookie leading him to a 5.01 ERA and 1.45 WHIP on the season. Kikuchi isn't missing enough bats either to establish himself as a fantasy asset and should be left off all watchlists until he shows more consistency. He'll have an easier matchup in his next start against the Tigers on the weekend.
