Freddie Freeman On Pace For Career-Best Year
5 years agoAtlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman has been an elite fantasy contributor for several years now, but this season, he may have taken his game to the next level. His outstanding first half of 2019 can be credited to a mix of increased power and increased opportunities for RBI with Ronald Acuna leading off for the Braves. Freeman is slashing .308/.393/.581 on the year with 22 home runs, 65 runs and 65 RBI. While he's hit over .300 multiple seasons, he's only topped 30 home runs once (2016) and he's only topped 100 RBI once (2013). This year, he ranks amongst the top 10% of the league in multiple advanced stats such as barrel rate (14.4%), xBA (.295) and xwOBA (.405). Keep riding him as he figures to continue his elite production the rest of the season.
