Demaryius Thomas Out To Prove Himself
5 years agoNew England Patriots wide receiver Demaryius Thomas will need to show he still has plenty left in the tank when training camp opens at the end of the month. For most veterans, camp is the time to ease your way into a very long season. But the 31-year-old is coming off of a torn Achilles injury and will need to show the Patriots coaching staff he can contribute this season. Former quality veterans like Eric Decker and Reggie Wayne have tried and failed to make the 53-man roster with the Patriots in the past and Thomas will not be able to coast on his past accomplishments. The former Pro Bowl receiver averaged 98.4 catches, 1,374 receiving yards and 9.2 touchdowns per season from 2012-2016 but he is seasons removed from that elite type of production.
