Alex Bregman On Pace For Career-Best In Home Runs
5 years agoHouston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman certainly didn't disappoint in the power department last season when he hit 31 home runs and added 103 RBI. However, as we've just passed the midpoint in the 2019 season, he finds himself on pace for a new career-high in home runs. With 22 home runs in 83 games, he has a very realistic shot of reaching 40 home runs on the year. He's on pace for about 41 home runs if he were to play in as many games as last year, 157. So far he's missed just two games this season. Bregman's amongst the top 10% of the league in wOBA (.393), strikeout rate (12.9%) and walk rate (16.4%). He's proven the past few years to be one of the game's best contact hitters and this increase in power so far this year suggests that he could be establishing himself as even more of a force in fantasy going forward.
