5 years agoImpending unrestricted free-agent center Joe Pavelski (Sharks) has initiated contract talks with the Dallas Stars. The Tampa Bay Lightning have also been freeing up salary-cap space to make a potential run at the veteran center. The Stars are desperate to add some scoring punch, and Pavelski would be a tremendous addition. He has posted 64 or more points in each of his past six seasons, while posting 21 or more points on the power play during the same span. Even at 34 years old the 13-year veteran still has plenty of fantasy punch heading into the 2019-20, wherever he lands.--Daniel Dobish
