Jonas Valanciunas Agrees To Stay In Memphis
5 years agoFree agent center Jonas Valanciunas has agreed to return to the Memphis Grizzlies, who acquired him in a trade deadline deal that sent Marc Gasol to the Toronto Raptors. Valanciunas played 19 games for Memphis, averaging 19.9 points and 10.7 rebounds per game in those contests. Don’t expect quite that level of production moving forward with Jaren Jackson Jr. and Brandon Clarke up front, but Valanciunas doing his usual 12 points and nine rebounds per game thing is very much in play, making him a valuable option who has the chance to outperform expectations if injuries strike the Memphis frontcourt. This is a good move for the center and one that should help fantasy owners out. A healthy Valanciunas is one of the NBA’s most consistent players.
