BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 31% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Through two major league starts, San Diego Padres pitcher Logan Allen is 2-0 with two quality starts, a 1.38 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP. You can't really ask for much better than that from the 22-year-old rookie, who is scheduled for two starts in week 14, a home matchup vs. the Giants on Monday and a road game against the Dodgers on Saturday.
Allen was dominant in the minor leagues in 2017 and 2018 and was one of the Padres' top prospects coming into the season. However, his numbers in Triple-A this year weren't too inspiring. Across 13 starts, he posted a 5.15 ERA and 1.44 WHIP with 63 strikeouts and 22 walks over 57 2/3 innings.
While he's cruised through his first two major league starts, he's also had some luck on his side. His strand rate through two starts is 87.5% and he's allowing an exit velocity of 91.7. Don't expect him to be a quality start machine going forward or even in the same class as his teammate and fellow rookie Chris Paddack, but he does warrant an add in NL-only leagues and 12+ team leagues. He's a great start on Monday in daily-lock leagues and a worthy starter in weekly-lock points leagues this week as well.
