Dee Gordon Departs Saturday's Game With Strained Quad
5 years agoSeattle Mariners second baseman Dee Gordon was forced from the game Saturday after straining his quad while running the bases. He injured himself going first to third on a hit by Mallex Smith in the bottom of the third, but managed to stay in the game for the top of the fourth. After failing to cover second on a ground ball in the inning, Gordon was lifted from the contest ending his night going 1-for-1 with a run scored. The issue doesn't sound too serious, and we should consider the 31-year-old day-to-day for now. The M's will likely rest him Sunday with an off-day Monday before the Cardinals come to town the following day for a three-game set.
