Daniel Jones Impressive In First Round Of Practices
5 years agoNew York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones was impressive during spring practices, and head coach Pat Shurmur said the rookie out of Duke is "on track to play Day 1." Hints of a potential quarterback competition didn't rattle QB Eli Manning this week, as he brushed off the potential of a controversy. Still, the Giants used a high pick in the first round on Jones for a reason, and he is living up to the early hype. If the G-Men stumble out of the chute like the past couple of seasons, the future could be sooner rather than later for Big Blue. Shurmur seems to really like what he is seeing from the former Blue Devils standout, who excelled under the tutelage of David Cutcliffe, who is ironically very friendly with the Manning Family.
