BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 18% of leagues
ANALYSIS: The arrival of a prospect to the major league ranks is always exciting news, and the injection of first baseman Bobby Bradley into the Cleveland Indians batting order could mean some instant power-hitting rewards. The 23-year old Mississippian was once considered to be a top-100 prospect, but has fallen off of many folks' radar after a couple inconsistent stints in the minors. Though he has gotten off to a slow start in his extremely limited MLB sample, there are a few poignant reasons to buy stock in Bradley moving forward into July.
In six minor league seasons (2,256 AB), Bradley has knocked 138 pitches into the stands and produced a rather balanced slash of .256/.344/.508. Just this year in 257 AB for Triple-A Columbus, he has already hit for 24 home runs and a .292/.359/.638 slash, which strongly contributed to his call-up. He has always been a guy who slugs but strikes out a lot, but he has continuously supplemented his OBP with a fantastic walk rate. This has already played out in his brief time in the bigs, as he has been striking out at a 42.1% clip but taking a walk at a 10.5% rate, and has been striking for just 11% soft contact on 44.4% line drives. He has been in the Tribe order nearly everyday, either at first base or DH. With enough AB, this is a formula that will lead to success for Bobby Bradley.
