5 years agoThe Toronto Blue Jays activated first baseman Justin Smoak (quad) from the Injured List on Friday. He will return to the starting lineup immediately, playing first base and hitting sixth in Friday's game. He missed the team's previous 12 games due to his quad injury. Smoak has been serviceable so far this year with a slash line of .225/.364/.423 and 12 home runs and 34 RBI in 62 games. The most promising sign he has shown is that is strikeout rate is down to 18% this year after striking out 26.3% of the time in 2018. He's a worthy add in 14+ team leagues and AL-only leagues if you need some power help. In more shallow leagues, first base may be too deep to warrant adding him.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
