Steven Matz Dreadful In Philadelphia
5 years agoThe New York Mets found no relief to their current woes Monday night as they dropped the series opener in Philadelphia. New York native Steven Matz was on the mound and got hit hard from the start. With three runs surrendered in the first, he was well on his way to his sixth defeat of the season. In all, Matz allowed seven runs on 10 hits and three walks. He gave up three home runs and struck out just one batter in his 4 1/3 innings of work. His offense, to their credit, continued to battle, but his performance was simply too much to overcome. Matz's next start is scheduled for Saturday afternoon against the Atlanta Braves.
