Tony Wolters Gets Two Hits In Loss
5 years agoColorado Rockies catcher Tony Wolters continued his surprising offensive performance by gathering up a pair of hits on Sunday against the Dodgers. Wolters doubled in a run in the eighth inning to tie up the game, raising his batting average to .308 on the season. Wolters is one of just two regular catchers hitting over .300 this season, and while his swing is basically devoid of power, a high batting average can provide some real value at a position that is usually a wasteland. Wonters' defensive prowess keeps him in the lineup regularly, and his newfound swing actually gives him a little fantasy value.
