Cardinals Salute Albert Pujols After Home Run
5 years agoLos Angeles Angels first baseman Albert Pujols hit his 13th home run of the season in the Angels 4-2 loss to the Cardinals. Has been an emotional weekend for the future Hall of Famer, returning to St. Louis for the first time since leaving them via free agency in 2011. So when Pujols smoked a pitch in the seventh inning and sent it over the fence, Cardinals fans stood and cheered their former hero. Pujols is a shell of his former self but is quietly putting up a productive season. Through 227 at-bats this season, Pujols is slashing .233/.308/.449 with 10 doubles, 13 home runs and 41 runs batted in. Pujols still can put a charge into the occasional baseball but is one-dimensional from a fantasy perspective at this point.
