Trevor Story Jams Thumb, Day-To-Day
5 years agoColorado Rockies shortstop Trevor Story was suffering from a terrible case of déjà vu on Wednesday night. Story tried to turn a single into a double in the top of the sixth inning against the Diamondbacks, and he jammed his thumb when he slid headfirst into the tag at second. Story was removed from the game due to the jam, and x-rays were negative, just like they were in 2016. Now, Story is scheduled for an MRI on Thursday. In 2016, the MRI revealed a torn ligament that ended his rookie season. This time remains unknown. For now, Story is considered day-to-day, but fantasy owners and Rockies fans alike ought to be crossing every lucky appendage they can think of in hopes that the possible MVP is suffering from just a jam and nothing more.
