Gary Woodland's Strong Major Form Heads To Pebble Beach
6 years agoGary Woodland has finished in a share of eighth place or better in two of the last three majors he has entered and hopes to keep that form going at the U.S. Open. A strong driver of the golf ball, Woodland's tee to green game is amongst the best on Tour. However, his putting leaves a bit to be desired. Ranking second in birdie average this season, Woodland is a good DFS player that is checking in at $8,000 on DraftKings, which makes him a solid play in comparison to the players in his salary range. Missing only one cut in 17 starts this season, Woodland can be counted on to be around for the weekend.

Gary Woodland A Dark-Horse Candidate At Houston Open
1 week agoGary Woodland has had an up-and-down 2025 season thus far. He finished top 25 in his first three starts and has missed the cut in three of his last four. In last week's Valspar Championship, he finished tied for 47th. At Memorial this week, players who hit the ball long off the tee will have an advantage. The course measures approximately 7,500 yards and can play longer if wind is present. Woodland is no stranger to crushing the ball off the tee, where he ranks fourth in driving distance. Just under 33% of approach shots will come from 200+ yards this week, where he also excels. He ranks fourth in approach shots of >200 yards. However, players will need to be savvy around the greens, where he has struggled, ranking 136th in strokes gained around the green. Woodland may not be the safest play, but could be a true wild card this week.

Gary Woodland Aiming For Bounce-Back Performance At PGA National
1 month agoPrior to missing the cut at the Genesis Invitational, Gary Woodland had posted three straight top-22 finishes to start the year. He now looks to get back on track at the Cognizant Classic, an event where he has missed the cut just once in 10 appearances, with four career top-10 finishes. Woodland has gained the majority of his strokes this season off the tee (7.504) but has also been impressive on approach, gaining 0.421 strokes per round. Given the challenging nature of PGA National, this part of his game will be crucial for success. Woodland ranks in the 94th percentile for greens in regulation from 150-200 yards and in the 80th percentile for proximity from the same distance, which accounts for 48.1% of all approach shots at this course. This is especially important for Woodland, as he has lost 3.984 strokes combined in putting and around the green. At $7,500 on DraftKings, Woodland presents solid value and could be a core piece in any DFS lineup.
