Francesco Molinari Aims To Continue Strong Major Performance
6 years agoFrancesco Molinari has been a stalwart in majors for the past year, beginning with his Open Championship win at Carnoustie in 2018. Though his career-best finish in our national championship is a T23 in 2014 with missed cuts in four of nine starts. Molinari's recent form has not been strong either. Since finishing T5 at August, Molinari has a MC, T48 and T53 in three starts. However, with Molinari's ball-striking and recent performance in majors, he's a safe play this weekend at Pebble Beach.

Francesco Molinari Entertains Potential At Southern Hills
3 years agoFrancesco Molinari hit the pause button on his struggles last time out at the Byron Nelson. He finished in the top-20 for the first time since January at the American Express. At the Amex, he shot four straight rounds in the 60's. While he got hot last week, he had to come from almost nowhere just to make the cut then contend. He ranks 48th in birdies at 4.08 per round but again Molinari must putt well. When he does, the Italian golfer can contend and win any tournament.

Francesco Molinari Trying To Bounce Back At Byron Nelson
3 years agoFrancesco Molinari has endured a tough time on the PGA Tour of late missing cuts in three straight tournaments. The last time the Italian golfer got his putter going was at The American Express in January. He shot -19 then and that was his last top-ten result (tied for sixth). Since then, it has been a series of worsening issues for Molinari. Everything from putting to hitting off the tee has suffered. Could he put it together for a week as the PGA Championship approaches? Yes. The long layout this week means Molinari must get off to a hot start.

Francesco Molinari Lacking Upside
3 years agoFrancesco Molinari heads back to Augusta for the 11th time. Ever since he squandered the lead on Sunday of the 2019 Masters, he has yet to record a top-five finish at any event around the world. He has a T42 as his best finish the last five times he has teed it up. The Italian's struggles have mainly been on the ball-striking front, as he's lost strokes off the tee and on approach this season. Outside of his 2019 T5, Molinari has an uninspiring history at The Masters, offering very little upside this week.

Francesco Molinari Expects To See Weekend At Valspar
3 years agoFrancesco Molinari managed to make the cut at The Players Championship. He never honestly was in contention, however. The Italian golfer shot just well enough but his 74 on Monday kept him staying in the top-30. Since finishing in a tie for sixth at The American Express, Molinari has struggled stringing holes err birdies together. He has lost nearly a half stroke gained off the tee and approaching the green overall. While his putting is ranked 47th, Molinari is just not getting to the green often enough with birdie chances. That could continue a bit too often this week too.
