Danny Duffy Struck By Liner, Stays In Game
6 years agoKansas City Royals starting pitcher Danny Duffy took a line drive to the knee in the second inning of Thursday's ball game against the Red Sox, but after writhing in pain for a few minutes, he decided to stay in to finish the job. He was instead chased in the next inning when he got shelled. This made Duffy's second straight bad start, and facing a lineup as potent as Boston's didn't help him in any way. For now, he told reporters that his knee is fine and it wasn't an excuse, but it's not clear yet whether it will have any lasting effect. He's scheduled to get an easier turn against the Tigers next week, but most owners shouldn't be investing in Duffy.
