Mookie Betts Enters Double-Digit Home Run Column
6 years agoBoston Red Sox right fielder Mookie Betts made his only hit count in Thursday's win over Kansas City, slugging his 10th home run in the third inning. The two-run shot tied the game up for Boston, propelling them to eventually take the lead and never look back. It was his first long ball and run batted in since May 29. Expected to be the Red Sox leadoff hitter for the remainder of the season, it's possible that his RBI numbers will continue to take a hit, but his run and stolen base numbers should increase. He's slashing .271/.387/.462 with 10 homers, with 29 RBI. It going to be hard to replicate his MVP season from 2018, but Betts is still a stud that owners should feel lucky to have him on their team. Boston welcomes Tampa Bay this weekend where he'll face Yonny Chirinos in the series opener Friday.
