Zack Wheeler Posts Quality Start Despite Two Home Runs
5 years agoNew York Mets starter Zack Wheeler went seven innings Thursday afternoon at Citi Field, extending his streak of at least six innings per start to 11 consecutive. The 29-year-old allowed three runs on a pair of home runs, making this another quality start. Additionally, Wheeler struck out six and walked one, tossing 107 pitches in the process. He continues to find a rhythm, now having allowed three runs or less in five of his eight starts since the beginning of May. Regardless, his ERA stands at 4.61 while his record remains at 5-3.
