Brandon Workman Notches Second Save
6 years agoBoston Red Sox relief pitcher Brandon Workman recorded his second save of the season, in a scoreless ninth inning of an 8-5 win over the Yankees. Things started out rocky for the righty, after an error put a runner at second to begin the inning. However, Workman pitched out of the jam to earn his second career save unscathed. The 30-year-old has been great for Boston this season, hosting a 2.05 ERA in a team-leading 29 appearances. His 0.99 WHIP in 26 1/3 innings pitched could lead to Workman getting more ninth inning chances in the future. Still, this bullpen situation is too unstable to trust any one reliever for fantasy. However, it's worth paying attention to the usage going forward, as Boston has showed they will go with anyone, in any given situation.
