German Marquez Beats Blue Jays
6 years agoColorado Rockies ace German Marquez turned in a solid bid against the Blue Jays on Friday as his offense turned the game into a blowout. Marquez posted a quality start by only allowing two earned runs over seven innings, striking out seven along the way. Marquez did walk three hitters, but that's his first multi-walk game in six starts, so it's not worth much worry for now. Marquez hasn't been otherworldly good like he was in the second half of last season, but he's still pitching very well, carrying a 3.48 ERA that is supported by a 3.34 xFIP at the one-third mark of the season. He'll take on the Cubs in Wrigley next, and he should be a must-start against all opponents at this point.
