FanDuel DFS Pitchers
Trevor Bauer: CLE at CWS ($10,500)
Even though Bauer has been struggling lately, he's still been able to rack up strikeouts, as he holds a 27.5% K-rate on the year. Additionally, he consistently works deep into games, which gives him a high floor and gives me confidence that he can return to the elite form that he flashed at the start of the season and last year. Bauer's strikeout upside is the primary reason to grab him in this matchup, as the White Sox have a 26.6% K-rate against righties, which is second-highest in baseball. He can have a huge start here and is well worth the investment.
Joey Lucchesi: SDP vs MIA ($7,600)
Lucchesi is coming off of a fantastic outing against Toronto where he struck out 11 batters in 6 2/3 innings. He's now got back-to-back quality starts and can easily grab a third in this matchup against Miami. The Marlins are the worst team in the league against left-handed pitching, with a pathetic .260 wOBA. Lucchesi also gets to face them at home in an extreme pitcher's park. He is an outstanding value play at this price.
FanDuel DFS Infielders
Trey Mancini: 1B, BAL vs SFG ($4,000)
Much of Mancini's domination this year has come at the expense of lefties, as he's mashing to the tune of a 151 wRC+ against southpaws. He faces a very weak lefty in Giants starter Drew Pomeranz, who has an awful 6.45 ERA. There aren't many Orioles hitters who are normally worth playing, but Mancini is in a spot to excel tonight.
Joe Panik: 2B, SFG at BAL ($3,100)
On the other side of this matchup, the Giants lineup actually makes for a sneaky stack. Giants bats are suppressed by their home park, so when they're in a hitter's park like Baltimore, they should be able to do some damage - especially against Andrew Cashner, owner of a 4.73 FIP. Panik is cheap and can score some runs out of the leadoff spot.
Vladimir Guerrero, Jr.: 3B, TOR at COL ($3,300)
Vlad is probably going to be a very chalky play tonight in Coors Field, the league's ultimate offensive environment. Still, at this price he's hard to avoid. He has tons of potential out of Toronto's two-hole, where he can collect both runs and RBI. Rockies starter German Marquez has fallen victim to Coors many times this year with a 5.40 ERA, so don't be afraid to deploy Blue Jays hitters.
Adalberto Mondesi: SS, KAN at TEX ($3,800)
Mondesi displayed his explosive ability last night with a home run in his 3-for-3 effort. He's batting .287 on the year with 18 steals and can find lots of different ways to score you points. Mondesi is in line for another strong game batting third against Ariel Jurado, whose success in a small sample should not be trusted.
FanDuel DFS Outfielders
Shohei Ohtani: OF, LAA at SEA ($3,200)
Although Ohtani is currently mired in a slump, I'm coming back to him at this price. He's still batting third for the Angels, a spot where he can bring in lots of counting stats. Expect Ohtani to hit off of Mike Leake, who has an awful 5.55 FIP this season.
Oscar Mercado: OF, CLE at CWS ($3,300)
Mercado has caught fire in the majors, batting .326 with an .861 OPS over the last two weeks. He's established himself as Cleveland's two-hitter, where he can take advantage of one of the worst starters in the league, Dylan Covey. Covey has a 6.68 FIP, so consider stacking Cleveland baseball team hitters.
