Jake Diekman Nails Down Seventh Hold
6 years agoKansas City Royals relief pitcher Jake Diekman has quietly been dominating hitters for the last month, but he finally got tagged for a loss on May 27. Fortunately, Diekman jumped right back on the horse and was able to lock down his seventh hold of the season on Thursday by throwing a scoreless inning against the Rangers. Since April 22, Diekman has a 26/5 K/BB ratio and a sparkling 1.72 ERA while recording five holds. There are already rumors that Diekman will draw trade interest this summer, but if Ian Kennedy stumbles a few more times while Diekman continues this dominance, he may find himself knocking down some saves before he packs his bags.
