Gary Sanchez Tied For AL Home Run Lead
6 years agoDespite their 5-4 defeat at the hands of the San Diego Padres Tuesday night in the Bronx, the New York Yankees put up another fight, falling short. After going down four runs, the offense responded in the fourth with a solo blast off the bat of catcher Gary Sanchez. It was his 17th of the season, tying him with George Springer for most in the American League. The 26-year-old homered in his second consecutive game and now has nine in the month of May. While talk entering the new season was whether Sanchez was still the best offensive catcher in the game, his early performances have definitely placed him at the forefront of that discussion.
