BALLER MOVE: Add in 12-Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 17% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: The versatile David Fletcher has continued to produce for the Angels. Across the season, he’s sporting a .310 batting average and an elite 6.5 K%. If these two numbers continue, it’s going to be impossible for the Angels to keep Fletcher out of their daily lineup. The Angels have used either Fletcher or Tommy La Stella in the leadoff spot for just about every game in May. That’s an alluring place to be in with the one and only Mike Trout in the two-spot.
Fletcher’s complete lack of power – five HR in 455 career AB – is certainly discouraging, but it could also work in his favor in terms of earning the leadoff spot for the Angels if the team wants to have La Stella’s newfound power in the middle of the lineup. All in all, Fletcher is a must-add in 12+ team leagues and AL-only formats. If you’re in a smaller league and you need BA help, run-scoring help, and/or a low strikeout guy and can withstand the low power numbers, Fletcher is certainly worth an add.
