German Marquez Runs Out Of Gas
6 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher German Marquez cruised through six innings against the Orioles on Sunday, but an ugly seventh ruined his quality start and cost him a decision. It's understandable why Marquez was allowed to pitch into the seventh since he's basically their ace starting pitcher and their bullpen isn't very good, but Bud Black's trust likely lost the week for some fantasy owners. Marquez finished the day having allowed two earned runs, but it took two more pitchers and two more earned runs (both charged to Marquez) to find their way to the last out of the inning. It wasn't Marquez's most dominant performance, but the line doesn't really do his pitching justice. Hopefully, he can get some retribution when he faces the Blue Jays this weekend.
