Rough, Strange Day For Austin Barnes In Win
6 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers catcher Austin Barnes (groin) was hitless in his only at-bat Sunday against the Pittsburgh Pirates, and he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. While running the bases he pulled up lame with a sore left groin and was replaced by Russell Martin behind the dish. In this game, the Dodgers had back-to-back HBP with the bases loaded for the first time since 1925. As far as his injury, manager Dave Roberts said he wasn't certain about the severity of Barnes' left groin injury. If he is forced to the 10-day injured list, Rocky Gale would likely be summoned from Triple-A to back up Martin.
