Nick Pivetta Could Start Tuesday
6 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Nick Pivetta could return to the Majors as early as Tuesday according to Philly.com. Pivetta has been in Triple-A since April 16 after starting the season with an 8.35 ERA in his first four starts of the season. Pivetta has been good since his demotion pitching to a 3.41 ERA with a 3.31 FIP. He has a 33.1 strikeout rate with the Lehigh Valley IronPigs and appears ready for another shot in the Majors. Phillies manager Gabe Kapler hasn't officially announced a starter for Tuesday but did say Vince Velasquez would be available out of the bullpen this weekend, indicating Pivetta should be the frontrunner to start vs St. Louis. He's worth an add in deeper leagues in case he lives up to the potential he showed last year that made him a trendy breakout pick during fantasy draft season.
