David Dahl Smacks A Pair Of Singles
6 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder David Dahl was able to knock through a pair of singles on Thursday, giving him his first multi-hit game in 11 days. Dahl's been a bit of a surprise so far this year. After a power surge last year, Dahl was thought to be turning into a long-ball hitter who also strikes out a lot. Instead, while Dahl is still striking out a lot (33% of the time), he's not really hitting with much power. After recording 16 home runs in 249 at-bats last season, Dahl has just three in 138 at-bats so far this year. The kicker is that while most thought last year was the start of something new for Dahl, it looks more like last year is an outlier. Dahl is hitting less fly balls this season, and his power numbers are more in line with his first stint in the majors, when he hit seven homers in 222 at-bats. Owners should hold for now, but this is concerning.
