Carlos Estevez Melts Down Versus Pittsburgh
6 years agoOne day after nearly landing the temporary closing gig for the Colorado Rockies, reliever Carlos Estevez got shellacked in his first opportunity to get back on the mound. Estevez was called in to keep the team within striking distance after a big comeback left Colorado down 8-6. Instead, Estevez got blown up by allowing three home runs in the span of seven batters, putting the game well out of hand. Estevez had been on a run where he hadn't allowed more than one earned run in 15 straight outings, but he ended up getting four hung on him in 2/3 of an inning on Thursday. This is the 26-year-old's first big blow up this season, so it remains to be seen how he'll bounce back.
