Steven Matz Posts Quality Start Despite 10 Hits Allowed
6 years agoIt wasn't pretty, but New York Mets starter Steven Matz posted a quality start Thursday afternoon at Citi Field as his club completed a four-game sweep. The 27-year-old surrendered 10 hits and two walks, but managed to keep the damage to just one run, stranding eight runners. His lone run allowed came in the sixth, a half inning after his offense had given him the lead. After Matz exited, eight runs were scored as the Mets walked away with the win. As for Matz, his ERA now stands at 3.63 while his record remains 3-3.
