Stephen Strasburg Posts Quality Start
6 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Stephen Strasburg allowed three runs (two earned) with five strikeouts in seven innings Thursday against the New York Mets. Strasburg left the game in line to get the win but was done in by the Nationals atrocious bullpen after a three-run Carlos Gomez home run in the eighth inning cost Washington the lead and the game. Strasburg now owns a 4-3 record in 10 starts with a 3.32 ERA and a dazzling 0.98 WHIP. The Nationals pitcher has struck out 82 hitters in 65 innings. Strasburg has been one of the most effective starters in baseball this season and should continue to be in lineups every time he toes the rubber.
