Robinson Chirinos Again Behind The Plate Wednesday
6 years agoHouston Astros catcher Robinson Chirinos will start and hit seventh Wednesday against the Tigers. Chirinos went 1-for-2 on Tuesday with two walks, a home run and is off to a fantastic start to his season. The veteran is currently slugging .810 in the month of May and is slashing .278/.412/.567 through his first 90 at-bats on the season. His current .322 BABIP is slightly above his career average but he is slugging .483 with runners in scoring position. The catching position depth in fantasy is lacking impact bats around the league making Chirinos a worthy play right now. He will face Tigers left-handed starter Ryan Carpenter Wednesday and Chirinos is 6-for-17 (.353) against lefties thus far this season.
