Mitch Moreland On Fire In May
6 years agoBoston Red Sox first baseman Mitch Moreland, who sat out Monday's contest due to facing lefty Marco Gonzalez, has three home runs in his past four games, bringing his slugging percentage in May up to a robust .750 with a .410 on-base percentage. Moreland is still part of a platoon at first base with Steve Pearce, but it's the strong side vs. RHP, so he will play the majority of games. Still, his season-long value is primarily limited to deeper mixed leagues and AL-only leagues. However, after facing a lefty Tuesday, the Red Sox are scheduled to face six righties in seven games. Moreland should be in the lineup for all of those games and as long as he's this hot with the bat could be worth adding and starting.
