Shohei Ohtani Goes Hitless In Debut
6 years agoLos Angeles Angels designated hitter Shohei Ohtani made his 2019 debut on Tuesday night, going 0-for-4 in the team's 5-2 win over the Tigers. Ohtani struck out twice but walked once and drove in his first run of the season when he grounded out in the third inning to give the Angels an early 2-0 lead. Ohtani will not pitch this season but is expected to contribute with the bat. If healthy, Ohtani could certainly help fantasy rosters after slashing .285/.361/.564 with 21 doubles, 22 home runs and 61 runs batted in through 326 at-bats last season. Ohtani is back in the lineup and will hit third Wednesday night against the Tigers.
