Jon Gray Hit Hard In No-Decision
6 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Jon Gray was fortunate to escape Saturday's game with a no-decision after his team's big bats came through in a ninth-inning comeback victory. Following three straight quality starts, Gray was matched up against a young and powerful Atlanta team that quickly went to work as Freddie Freeman deposited a first-inning pitch beyond the wall in right-center. Another solo shot in the second was followed by a pair of scoreless innings, and it seemed like Gray might have settled into a groove. Unfortunately, it all came crashing down in the fifth when four of the first five Braves hitters laced hits and chased Gray to the showers. Gray is still dripping with potential, but he's certainly not dependable yet. He'll get another chance to right himself on this road trip when he draws the Brewers next week. Fantasy owners should remain wary for now.
