Raimel Tapia's Home Run Streak Ends At Three Games
6 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder Raimel Tapia has always been a batting-average player who would struggle to bring any real counting stats to the table, but he's recently shown that he still has some real pop in that bat of his. Unfortunately, Tapia's home run streak ended at three straight games on Wednesday as he only doubled twice and drove in three runs instead. Tapia's playing time is questionable, at best, since he's officially the fourth outfielder behind Charlie Blackmon, David Dahl and Ian Desmond, but Dahl is possibly the most injury-prone position player in the game and Desmond is currently hitting .177 with an astounding 23/3 K/BB ratio so far this year. If Tapia can keep hitting like this, it would seem like Colorado would find a way to get him some at-bats. Unfortunately, they have a history of letting their younger players flounder so they can give those at-bats to underperforming veterans instead.
