Chris Sale Punches Out 10 On Tuesday
6 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Chris Sale was able to get through just five innings despite striking out 10 hitters, while allowing two earned runs in Tuesday's 7-4 loss in Game 1 of a doubleheader with Detroit. It was great to see the high strikeout total from the Red Sox ace, but needing 97 pitches to get through five innings is far from efficient. Nonetheless, it's a step in the right direction for Sale, as he has been a shell of his former self in 2019. However, winless through five starts, the 30-year-old southpaw is still searching to put it all together. His next chance to silence the question marks will be against the Rays on Sunday.
