Mark Reynolds Homers In Rare Start
6 years agoColorado Rockies first baseman Mark Reynolds took advantage of the chance to make a start by drilling a two-run home run in the fifth inning of Monday's game against the Nationals. Reynolds was hired to be a bench bat, but he's gotten a bit more playing time while original starting first baseman Daniel Murphy was on the disabled list with a thumb injury. With Murphy on the cusp of returning, Reynolds' playing time is expected to diminish dramatically while Ryan McMahon and Garrett Hampson juggle the second base duties. Reynolds will likely still provide some pop off the bench, but it probably won't come regularly enough for any fantasy leagues to employ him.
